Obataye conquered South America by winning the Gran Premio Latinoamericano
The 41st Gran Premio Latinoamericano (G1) over 2000 metres on turf distributed a purse of US $300,000. It was contested on Saturday, 18 October at Hipódromo da Gávea in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, under sustained rain, high humidity and a track that went from soft to heavy as the day progressed.
